Requirements
- Certification — Certified Residential (most residential orders) or Certified General (commercial). Some lenders accept Licensed Residential for conventional.
- FHA Approval — Required for most residential orders. Some lenders accept non-FHA for conventional loans.
- E&O Insurance — Errors & Omissions (E&O) policy of at least $1 million per claim. Renewals tracked automatically.
- Geographic Competency — Active knowledge of your covered market area — not just a license that extends there.
- License in Good Standing — Current, active state license with no unresolved disciplinary matters.
Approval Timeline
With complete paperwork, approvals can happen in as little as one hour. Our panel team reviews credentials, license status, FHA approval, and coverage area. Come with your license, E&O certificate, and FHA cert and you could be active the same day.
High demand: thin-coverage markets nationwide
We have especially strong demand for qualified appraisers in areas that are hard to cover well: rural counties, resort communities, agricultural land, and coastal markets. If these are your markets, we want to hear from you.
